The hive-site.xml is the global hive configuration file

The file hive-default.xml.template contains the default values.

Management

Location

  • with Hadoop: %HADOOP_CONF_DIR%\hive-site.xml or %HADOOP_HOME%\conf\hive-site.xml
  • with Spark in local installation, %SPARK_HOME%\conf\hive-site.xml will take precedence over the Hadoop location.

Alias location: /etc/hive/conf
