An accumulate is a monitoring metrics that record time-weighted metrics such as the mean and standard deviation of a time series of values
They weight are given by time interval.
In contrast, a tally has no notion of interval.
The reports therefore return time-weighted statistics.
A typical example for the use of an Accumulate object is to compute the utilisation of a server. (ie load average)
