The information that may be listed in a http server log are information about:

  • the http request and response
  • the tcp connection

Example:

bytes_sent the number of bytes sent to a client
request_length request length
request_time request processing time in seconds
status response status
method The request method
time local time

And they are configurable.

Client IP Restoration

If you are behing a proxy, the request ip will be the IP of the proxy and not of the client. Every web server permits to restore the client IP (to set the IP of the client). See Client IP restoration.
