Network - Public Network

About

public network is a alias for the Internet.

When you are on a public network, you send and receive traffic directly on the Internet whereas a private one doesn't.

Example

The following services need access to the Internet:

• web servers to serve:
  • their website
  • or their web services (API,…)
• Email Server to receive and send emails

Public IP

A host on the public network has a fixed public IP

Registration

They are registered with the Network Information Center (NIC) to avoid address conflicts.
