OBIA - DAC - Load Type

Card Puncher Data Processing

Mode

Full

DAC will start the task in full mode when the refresh date of the target table(s) are set to NULL. To do this, navigate to Setup > Physical Data Sources > DataWarehouse and click the Refresh Dates tab. Here you query for the table and can set the refresh date to NULL.

Each task in the DAC is mapped to a full load or an incremental load workflow in Informatica. The DAC uses refresh dates (indicated in the Refresh Dates child tab of the Physical Data Sources tab) to determine whether to invoke a full or incremental workflow.

If the source or target table for a task is null, then the DAC invokes a full load workflow (command). If both the source and target tables have a refresh date, then the DAC invokes the incremental workflow (command). For a detailed description of refresh dates, see About Refresh Dates.

How to

set up the Refresh Dates

To set up the Refresh Dates in DAC, To do this, go to Setup→DataSources→Refresh Dates tab and right click and choose update records. When the dialog shows up, choose a date as the timestamp, and click go. This will update all the refresh dates.

An Execution Plan may use multiple sources - at the minimum an OLTP, DataWarehouse, and one or more flat file connections. Repeat the same operation for each of the datasources.

The $LAST_EXTRACT_DATE is a run time variable, and hence should not be modified.

Parameter

LAST_REFRESH_DATE

DAC stores a value called LAST_REFRESH_DATE at the end of an ETL extract. During the next run, DAC captures changes to the source data by comparing this LAST_REFRESH_DATE with the LAST_UPD date of records in the source.

PRUNE_DAYS

If the the PRUNE_DAYS parameter parameter is set to 1 for example, the change capture process will use LAST_REFRESH_DATE – Prune days as the cutoff timestamp for change capture.

In DAC > Execute Tab > select the appropriate Execution Plan > Parameters Tab (on bottom right pane) > edit Prune Days
