A transactional email (or triggered email), is an email sent to one recipient in response to an action of the user (or of a robot) against the application.
It's used as a component of a guided navigation.
It's sent to only one recipient as opposed to batch email that are send to many recipient.
The program that sends this email are called autoresponder.
Common uses cases include
- account creation notifications,
- purchase receipts,
- and other account notifications.
